Chargers 2018 NFL Mock Draft: Chargers pick up first-round QB
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Chargers had one of the best receiving cores in all of football last season. With 2017 first round pick Mike Williams injured for the majority of the year, the outlook for 2018 still looks very promising. However, there is a pretty significant name that may be walking away.

That big name is slot receiver, Tyrell Williams. Williams was huge for the Chargers last season as a big play threat that was second on the team in receiving yards behind Keenan Allen. So often throughout the year, Philip Rivers would air out a deep ball only for Williams to outrun his safety and catch it in stride for a big touchdown.
Thus, the Chargers are going to need to find a way to replicate that in 2018. Travis Benjamin is fast, but is more suited for wideout. Allen and Williams are options, but both are built as a wideout as well.
Instead of forcing something that does not belong, the Chargers can turn to the draft and pick up a late-round receiver to do the bidding.
That late-round receiver is Anthony Miller, who could be overlooked in this draft despite putting up an insane season at Memphis. Miller was third in the entire nation in receiving yards last season with 1462. His 18 touchdowns were tied for the most.
Walter Football has Miller as the seventh-best receiver in the draft a potential second to third round draft pick. However, Fanspeak’s Big Boards had him falling to the fifth round.
Although this pick may be a tad unrealistic and hopeful it is not entirely impossible. If Miller is available this late, or even in the fourth round, the Chargers can’t afford to pass him up.
