The new beginning starts now for the Clippers

Chris Paul was signed and traded before the season began, and now at the halfway point or so of the regular season, Blake Griffin is being sent to a new team. This raises the question as to what the organization actually has planned now for center DeAndre Jordan and head coach Doc Rivers.

Both of them are just as part of the problem as Griffin and Paul were, but now it’s their half of the stick that’s still standing. Because the Clippers are somehow still in the hunt for a bottom end playoff spot, the argument can still be made to keep Doc Rivers — for now — while it only adds confusion to the future of DeAndre Jordan.

As in, are they going to push to trade him or not? Enough with the rumors.

By trading Griffin, what the team also finally showed us was that they can make a move that isn’t going to shoot themselves in the foot and actually improves their roster overall. The particular part to this point comes via Avery Bradley, who can be a defensive presence for this team and get them over the next hump.

Lou Williams has turned out to be worth it on top of everything else, and it’s important now more than ever that the Clippers accept the fact that they need a turnaround.

The Blake Griffin trade shouldn’t be where the pendulum stops swinging, as either Doc Rivers or DeAndre Jordan need to go in order for their cycle to be complete and in order for them to actually move on.

There’s question marks as to how it all will play out on the court, but on paper, the Clippers made a smart trade with a team in the Pistons that was willing, apparently, to give them exactly what they needed.
