Lakers: Building the ideal 10-man rotation for the 2018 season
By Jason Reed
PF – Kyle Kuzma
Kyle Kuzma is really, really good at the game of basketball. Kuzma is past the sleeper moniker, as he was selected with the 27th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The product of the University of Utah is far more than a sleeper pick; he is one of the best rookies in the NBA and is going to play a pivotal role in the Lakers future.
Quite frankly, Kuzma’s career path is a hard one to predict. Common wisdom would say that Kuzma is only going to get better as time goes on, as does every young player.
However, what becomes hard to gauge is how much better Kuzma can get. Has he already gotten close to his ceiling and will always just be a solid starting power forward? Or, will Kuzma continue to develop at a rapid rate, becoming one of the best power forwards, and players, in the NBA?
Regardless of how he progresses, Kuzma has still been a surprise and will continue to produce at a high level for the Lakers. Even if he plateaus at his 15.7 points and 5.9 rebounds average, that is more than enough for Kuzma considering the potential super team that is going to be around him.
If he does progress, though, the Lakers could possess something very scary to the rest of the league. In three short years, when Ball, Ingram and Kuzma are all fully progressed, they could be the first ever super team with a “big five”.
