1. Los Angeles Lakers

We actually dedicated an entire article on the Lakers side of this trade and why it would be an overall genius move by the front office. You can find that article here, but if you want the basic rundown of it, you are in the perfect place.

The Los Angeles Lakers are natural fits as the team needs size down low and is looking to add as much star power as possible. As good as the Lakers young core is and as good as Julius Randle played at center, the team is lacking size and will continue to lack size if LeBron James joins ship to play the power forward position.

Plus, although the Lakers have $61 million in practical cap space, the team may be better suited in trying to add pieces to reduce the cap hit. While the team could sign Paul George and LeBron James, it would make building the rest of the team very difficult.

When it comes to Jordan, though, the Lakers have a hefty contract in Luol Deng that they will be willing to trade young assets to get rid of. Thus, not only will the Clippers receive Deng, they would also get someone like Josh Hart, the Cleveland Cavalier’ 2018 first-round pick and one or two unprotected first-round picks in the immediate future.

Thus, the Lakers add some star power without taking a long-term risk as well as maintaining a good cap figure.
