3. His numbers will be as good, if not better than last season

The two reasons mentioned previously completely have to do with outside factors that are out of LeBron James’ control. Having those factors in your favor, as they are with James, is huge when it comes to backing a great season.

More from LA Sports Hub

At the end of the day, James still has to have a great season to come away with the award. However, James having a great season is a surefire as the sun rising every morning. He has never had a season in which he shouldn’t be in the MVP discussion outside of maybe his rookie year.

Not only will James continue to be great, but he will also build on what was a stellar year last season and one of the best in his career.

I think we will see his scoring go back down to around 25 points per game with the off-ball scorers that the Lakers have. However, as a result, his assists numbers should slightly rise and could even flirt with double digits.

The biggest leap will be in rebounding as the Lakers do not have a true center and may rely on LeBron to play some center down the stretch late in games. Even when he is at the four, he is going to be the primary rebounder and starter of transitions.

LeBron is going to average somewhere around 25 points, 9.5 assists and 9.5 rebounds. Heck, I would not be surprised to see him pull off what Westbrook did and average a triple-double. That is something Jordan has never done.

While father time is certai

nly knocking on his door, James has not yet let him in and has at least one insane season left in him. With this being his first year in LA and perhaps the only year on the Los Angeles Lakers without a true second star, we could see a career year from LeBron James.
