1. Jimmie Ward, CB, San Francisco 49ers

The Los Angeles Chargers looked to have one of the best secondaries in the NFL heading into this season. Last year, the Chargers terrorized opposing defenses with several standout corners, led by star Casey Hayward.

This year only seemed to be better. The Chargers were adding a legitimate young star in Derwin James to the secondary in place for Tre Boston and were set to get Jason Verrett back from injury.

However, another season-ending injury derailed Verrett’s season before it even began. That was a noticeable hit to the secondary that should have still been successful.

The secondary has not been bad this season but it can certainly be improved, especially if the Chargers want to capitalize on this window.

One of the realistic cornerback options on the market is Jimmie Ward, who reportedly has been involved in trade discussions already.

The 49ers season has been riddled with injuries and winning is completely out of the question. With the emphasis geared towards continuing to add pieces alongside Jimmy Garoppolo, trading Ward for a third-round and late-round pick would be a good return.

Ward is a free agent after this season as well, making this deal all the more enticing for the 49ers to make.
