The Los Angeles Chargers entered the NFL offseason looking to add another playmaking threat to quarterback Justin Herbert's arsenal. While rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey had quite an impressive rookie season, the Chargers' lack of other credible receivers has highlighted the need to find a legitimate WR1/2 in the coming months.
Los Angeles has been linked to a handful of potential game-changing WRs in recent weeks, ranging from former Chargers wideout Keenan Allen to ex-Fresno State bulldog Davante Adams. Another name the Chargers should target is L.A. Rams WR Cooper Kupp — especially if his reported asking price ends up being true.
Chargers Rumors: Rams' Asking Price for Cooper Kupp Trade Revealed
On Sunday's Super Bowl pre-game show, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that the Rams are looking to get back a trade return for Kupp that's similar to what the Chargers received in last offseason's Keenan Allen deal.
"When you speak to people around the league, they see Keenan Allen go last year for a fourth-round pick and they believe that Cooper Kupp is in a similar situation," Schefter revealed.

For those who need a refresher, the Chargers traded Allen to the Chicago Bears last March in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick. Considering how Los Angeles will have 11 selections to make in April's draft, general manager Joe Hortiz shouldn't hesitate to give up this year's fourth-round pick (No. 124).
Kupp is coming off an injury-plagued campaign that limited him to 12 appearances. Although the former Eastern Washington WR's latest performance was far from his best, he still would've finished second among Chargers wideouts with 67 receptions while ranking third in receiving yards (710) and touchdowns (6).
If he had played all 17 games, Kupp was on pace for an impressive 95-1,006-9 state line. That's the type of production the Chargers could use after Quentin Johnston and Josh Palmer often disappeared for stretches during the 2024 season.
If the Chargers can land a healthy Kupp, their offense could take a serious jump. He's been one of the NFL's best wideouts since debuting eight seasons ago, having amassed 634 catches for 7,776 receiving yards and 57 TDs in 104 games while earning Offensive Player of the Year, Pro Bowl, and All-Pro honors.
Kupp's financial situation could scare away potential suitors as he will carry cap hits of $29.7 million and $27.3 million in 2025 and 2026, respectively, per Spotrac. Fortunately, money isn't an issue for the Chargers, who will have around $64.6 million to play with this offseason — the sixth-highest cap space in the NFL.
The idea of Kupp fielding passes from Herbert is too enticing to pass up, especially if it will only cost a Day 3 selection. For now, the Chargers must put any trade plans on hold until the 2025 NFL calendar begins on Wednesday, March 12.
