The Los Angeles Rams are suddenly facing a confusing offseason despite nearly toppling the Philadelphia Eagles to make the NFC Championship. This is an aging roster but one that can obviously still compete, though drama is now overshadowing an organization that could theoretically win the conference in 2025.

Cooper Kupp's declaration that he was told he'd be traded threw shockwaves throughout the franchise and the domino effect is just getting started.

Matthew Stafford, who just last week said he intended to play for the Rams in 2025, is now the subject of trade rumors following surprising Thursday podcast comments by his wife, Kelly.

Matthew Stafford's Wife Seemingly Suggests Rams Should Trade Him

On her podcast, The Morning After With Kelly Stafford and Hank, Kelly expressed frustration and confusion with the impending Kupp trade.

He "wants to win...he's not trying to put a team in a bad situation," Kelly said of Matthew. "If you're catching my drift, you're catching my drift...The trading away of Cooper...I'm confused because we were one play away from going to the NFC Championship."

She has a point. Kupp and Stafford have been synonymous with Rams football, leading the team to a Super Bowl victory just three years ago. Kupp has dealt with plenty of injuries, though he's still been effective and has obvious chemistry with the 36-year-old quarterback.

"I love the city of L.A.," Kelly continued. "With that being said, I love an adventure."

Kelly is no stranger to controversial comments and is known for her outspoken nature. Whether she's speaking for Matthew or merely offering her own opinion isn't clear, but it's fair to conclude that her husband is also frustrated about the Kupp news.

Matthew is nearing the end of his career. Given the NFL landscape, there doesn't seem to be an obvious place for him to go that he'd have a better chance at winning a Super Bowl than Los Angeles. If the Rams are intending to launch into a full rebuild, perhaps it is best for both parties to move on.

It's worth noting that Matthew declared he was coming back before the Kupp news broke. Maybe he's still committed to the organization or maybe Kelly is onto something with her speculation. Either way, the Rams have a lot of questions to answer in the coming weeks.
