Kobe Bryant And Kevin Durant Might Go For Big Apple

Reports are coming out saying there may be a possibility of both Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant are making their way to the New York Knicks.

Remember, this is only rumors in the time being.

Kevin Durant is going to be a free agent this up coming summer and he has already mentioned that is something he is not thinking about.

He doesn’t want anyone believing rumors unless they are directly from him or his agent.

On ESPN’s First Take last week, Stephen A Smith brought his analysis to the situation.

Smith said that Carmelo Anthony was looking at recruiting Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“One of the things that I’ve been hearing,” Smith said, “and I don’t believe it’s going to happen at all: I know for a fact that Carmelo Anthony has been and will continue to recruit Kevin Durant until the cows come home.”

“I’m also hearing that Kevin Durant is giving the New York Knicks consideration. And there are people in NBA circles who have joked around about the possibility [that] Kobe Bryant, if not wanted by the Lakers, could end up playing in New York for a year with Melo and Kevin Durant.”

“I can’t see it, to be quite honest with you,” Smith continued. “But who knows? Anything’s possible because Phil [Jackson] is in New York for Kobe and then there’s Durant and Melo, who would be there for anybody if that were to happen.”

At the moment it seems more likely for Carmelo to recruit Durant over Kobe.

Seeing that Durant is a superstar and a player who knows how to score of course their would be interest from Carmelo Anthony who is getting restless not having a championship ring.

Would this move make sense for Kevin Durant?

The Thunder already have the pieces to make a better team around Durant and have much more to offer.

I think the Knicks would have a hard time offering Durant something he would truly want to go and win a championship.

New York don’t even look close to a championship team, so in my opinion it would be silly for Durant to move to the east coast.

The Knicks only won 17 games last season.

The Knicks would need some of Michael Jordan’s juice from Space Jam to actually make a run for a championship.

Both of these rumors do seem like a long shot though.

I think Carmelo missed his chance of winning a championship by turning down an opportunity to play for the Bulls.

Bottom Line: We’ve seen stranger things happen.

You never know what will happen in the NBA anymore.

I don’t think these moves will happen but this league has surprised us from time to time.

And sometimes, culture shock is a good thing.
