NBA Free Agency: Three Realistic Options for the Clippers
By Jason Reed
Alex Len
With the Clippers potentially losing multiple big men during this NBA Free Agency, they certainly should have one on their radar. Blake Griffin, Marreese Speights, Brandon Bass, and Luc Mbah a Moute could all be leaving the Clippers. Assuming that the Clippers hold onto Griffin and Mbah a Moute, where should they set their sights?

Those sites should be set directly on Phoenix Suns big man Alex Len. Len is still relatively new to the league, playing for four seasons, and still has time to grow. With Deandre Jordan’s contract ending after next season, Len would be a good choice to not only back up Jordan this season but be his potential replacement.
In 18 minutes per game Len is averaging 7.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. He would fit in nicely behind Jordan at center, and could potentially even play power forward if they absolutely need him to. His youth would be great, as outside of Austin Rivers, the Lakers bench is fairly seasoned.
The Phoenix Suns big man likely won’t cost the Clippers too much as well. With the ongoing trend of the NBA, they may need to overpay for him, but they certainly can fit him in. With the contracts heading out and the Bird Years of Paul and Griffin signing Len should be no issue.

Well, there you have it. There is three players that the Los Angeles Clippers could realistically pursue during this year’s NBA free agency. Hopefully, the team can hold onto their lob city tandem, but they should keep these players in mind as well.
