Rams Rumors: Trade Targets the Rams should Consider

Jordan Matthews
After bringing in both Alshon Jefferey and Torrey Smith, the Eagles are reportedly looking to free up some cap space – perhaps by moving wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Although like Eifert, Matthews is only signed on until 2017 – he would serve as a perfect role player for one season with the Rams and could find himself signing a deal with the team if both sides like the relationship.

The Philadelphia wideout has played well in his three-year career, being a consistent threat deep in the passing game. All three seasons Matthews has eclipsed 800 yards, and despite only having three receiving touchdowns last season has had as many as eight in his first two years in the league. With his great height, standing in at six-foot-three, Matthews could be the option for the Rams next season.
The Rams lack that big bodied receiver that can get up and snag a football out of the air on the tail end of a Jared Goff lob.
Especially after losing Kenny Britt, the Rams are fairly thin in their wide receiving core and could benefit greatly in a guy like Jordan Matthews.
Since his deal is expiring, and the Eagles want to free up cap space, the Rams would likely only need to give up a future late round pick, such as a fourth-round pick, to secure Matthews. This would be an incredible bargain for the Rams, and at the very worst that one year of service would be worth the fourth-round draft pick.
Overall, the Rams are going to be busy in the near future if they want to give Los Angeles the illustrious return they were promised. If the team does not start listening to some of these Rams rumors, well, they may lose the battle of LA to the Los Angeles Chargers.
