Anquan Boldin

Fans may not like the idea of a 36-year-old receiver coming in via free agency, especially when the team itself is so young, but Anquan Boldin should be the exception. The Rams would be bringing in a receiver that is older than their head coach, bringing in an interesting dynamic in the locker room. Regardless, 36 years old or not, Boldin has proven he can still ball and would be the perfect leader for the Rams.

More from Rams Rumors

Now, I am not saying the Rams should sign Boldin to a long or expensive contract, but bringing him in for one year would be extremely beneficial for the franchise. Boldin has seen it all at the NFL level, and for a group that is so young and use to not winning this could be an extreme boost. It does not stop there, however, as Boldin would still be one of Goff’s best options to target.

Last season, at the ripe age of 35 and 36, Boldin hauled in eight touchdowns in route to 584 yards and 8.7 yards per catch.

Sure, those numbers are not the most stellar, but any Rams fan should welcome in a 600 yard, 8 touchdown contributor that would not only be contributing statistically but with his experience.

Any system that Boldin has entered he has thrived in, and the Rams are going to need more of that veteran leadership if they want to take the next step. While Boldin is not the solution to make the playoffs, he certainly is a stepping stone in doing so.

Next: Trade Targets for the Rams

Overall, the Rams have some pretty big holes to fill in their roster and one of these holes lies in their receiving core. If the Rams want to make the people of LA happy, they should listen to these Rams rumors.
