Josh Reynolds – Receiver, Texas A&M

In their fourth selection of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Rams selected their third receiving option in wide out, Josh Reynolds. Despite being the third guy selected to join the receiving core, we may see Reynolds have the biggest impact on day one. The Rams are in dire needs of a big bodied, over the top receiver; Reynolds provides just that.

More from Rams Rumors

Look at who the Rams have at receiver when this pick is made. They have Tavon Austin, who is born to succeed in the slot, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp who both make good short route options for Goff. The team desperately lacks that big Mike Evans type receiver that can go over the top of corners.

I am not way saying that Reynolds will be of Mike Evans caliber, but he will be rushed and play a big role in the Rams throwing game. The six-foot-three receiver will develop into a dangerous vertical threat, and with the right coaching, can turn into the Rams true number one option.

I know that is a bold statement to make, that the fourth round selection will be the best, but with what the Rams need it is very possible. I would not expect Reynolds to have as many catches as Tavon Austin or Cooper Kupp in his rookie year, but he will put up big yardage plays that will be huge for the offense.

2017-18 Stats Prediction: 56 receptions, 800 yards, 6 touchdowns

Overall, the goal of this draft was obviously to surround Jared Goff with as many options as they can. If these Rams rumors come to life, we may see a revitalized Los Angeles offense. They did the right thing in waiting one more year to bolster the secondary by replacing free agents. Stay tuned for further analysis on the Rams 2017 NFL Draft.
