Rams Rumors: New free agent targets after the 2017 NFL Draft
By Jason Reed
D’Qwell Jackson – MLB
The Rams are without a true menacing force at middle linebacker, and Jackson would provide just that. Jackson was hit with a four-game PED suspension last year, and was released by the Colts, but could find a nice home in Los Angeles. On a short contract, the Rams could maximize whatever Jackson has left in the tank and avoid paying a hefty fee.

At his best Jackson is one of the best middle linebackers in all of the NFL. Last season, in only 12 games, Jackson registered 78 tackles and one sack. At his best Jackson has registered over 150 combined tackles and four sacks, and while those days may be gone, he could still be a great contributor on this Rams defense.
In a sixteen game season, Jackson definitely has the capabilities of garnering over 100 combined tackles and would be that last piece of the puzzle the Rams need.
The Rams already have defensive stars in Aaron Donald and Alec Ogletree, and adding just one more would sum up the defense nicely.
While the main focus of the Rams has seemingly been the passing game on both offense and defense, the team should take a step back and look at Jackson. At the right price and the right length, Jackson could be the next best thing for the Los Angeles Rams.
