This deal may be the most likely of the Lakers rumors, as the Magic were reportedly interested in bringing in Luol Deng last season. It should be noted that if the Lakers keep their first round pick this year they must sacrifice both their 2017 and 2018 second round picks to the Orlando Magic. So if that were to occur, the Lakers would instead need to send the Nuggets 2018 second round pick.

Although Terrence Ross is a starter in Orlando, he would undoubtedly be the sixth man for the Los Angeles Lakers. Alongside Jordan Clarkson, Ross would bring a nice one-two scoring punch off of the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers. Not only that, the Lakers are saving around eight million dollars by getting rid of Luol Deng.

Ross’ contract also makes this deal better, as they would not be locked down for another three seasons like they currently are with Luol Deng. Instead, the Lakers could part ways with Ross after only two more seasons, perhaps in they bring in Paul George during the next offseason.

As a starter, Ross put up decent numbers with the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic. The small forward put up 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. While it may not be the most mind-blowing numbers, it definitely is better than Deng and also is much cheaper.

This deal would be perfect for the Los Angeles Lakers. They may not be getting a huge talent in this deal, but they are significantly improving the small forward position off the bench all while saving money. Some fans may oppose this because of the pick being dealt, but that seems to be a sacrifice that is worth it.

Overall, these Lakers rumors are promising if Los Angeles wants to bring in a great sixth man. Heck, even if the Lakers want to settle with Larry Nance Jr or Jordan Clarkson at sixth man they would be fine, however, these deals may be on the table.
