C.J. Miles

C.J. Miles may be the best option for the Lakers in this free agency, period. While he is not a high-profile name, and would not bring any more fans to the Staples Center, Miles does have the flexibility to add an immense amount of depth to this bench. This is something the Lakers are going to need if they want to take that next step.

More from Lakers Rumors

Despite primarily being a shooting guard, Miles can easily play at the small forward position and can even run at point guard if need be. Miles started his career in Utah as a point guard and even sees occasional time at the one 12 years later in his career.

Miles, being an unrestricted free agent, may want to get out of Indiana after the butchering he received from fans, and teammate Paul George, after taking the last shot in game one of the first round against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite George likely eventually coming to the Lakers, Miles can beat him to the punch.

Miles can do everything for the Lakers. Last season, Miles averaged 10.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. While his assists numbers are down, as his stat line overall may not be the greatest, it is his flexibility to add depth to this team that makes him so valuable.

Miles would likely see more time off of the bench for the Lakers, splitting time between backup shooting guard and small forward. This increase in minutes would only better his stat line, becoming a win-win for both Miles and the Lakers.
