SF. Rudy Gay

Another small forward, Rudy Gay would be a much more realistic target for the Los Angeles Clippers and would not cost them nearly as much as Hayward. Still, Gay would be a great pickup for the Clippers. Bringing in Gay would allow Griffin to remain the number one star on the team, however, it would also give him another tool to gear towards a championship run.

More from Clippers Rumors

Rudy Gay has quietly been one of the best small forwards in all of the league. Perhaps because he has only made the postseason once, Gay does not receive the recognition he deserves for the numbers that he is posting.

Gay is a lifetime 18.4 points per game scorer, scoring 18.7 points per game last season. With just under seven rebounds, over 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game Gay proves that he brings much more to the table than just shooting.

While Gay’s ruptured Achilles last season may bring in some question marks around his future, it ultimately could give the Clippers a steal. Other teams may not want to approach Gay, giving the Clippers a clear path to sign him for less than he is actually worth.

If the Clippers can get a good price on Gay they could then save room for other role players as well. Not only would they be bringing in a star around Griffin, they would be setting themselves up to be deeper as a unit as well.

Overall, the Los Angeles Clippers are definitely going to have a shake up this offseason. We will have to wait and see if that shake up involves Blake Griffin or not.
