The Sacramento Kings may have just signed veteran small forward Vince Carter to a one-year contract, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t trade him. If Sacramento can turn a one-year investment into a multi year one, it would be foolish not to part ways with the veteran.

More from Lakers Rumors

Jordan Clarkson could sum off an already young, deep, backcourt in Sacramento. Alongside De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield and George Hill, Clarkson could prove to be that perfect bridge between youth and experience. Not only will Clarkson be a mentor now, he will only get better with time alongside his teammates.

As for Carter, he likely would not bring the Lakers the same kind of production as Clarkson would have. Last season, the veteran guard averaged just 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists last season.

However, the Lakers are essentially freeing up Clarkson’s contract for nothing, as well as getting a better draft pick in 2020. Instead of the Kings merely giving the Lakers their pick, the two teams can swap, with Los Angeles receiving the better deal regardless of whose it is.

Plus, how cool would be it be to see Vince Carter donning the purple and gold to end his career? For somebody so legendary to the sport, the Lakers could give him the perfect send off. Hey, maybe he will even drop 60 in his last game.
