3. Make Cooper Kupp Jared Goff’s number one option

Cooper Kupp has been a pleasant surpise for the Los Angeles Rams this season. The third round pick flew under the radar for those outside of the Rams’ fandom, yet has shown very promising signs this season. Kupp has had two very solid performances this season and two duds. If the Rams want to secure their place atop the NFC West, Kupp needs to be Goff’s number one target.

More from Los Angeles Rams

Obviously, the previous slide stated that the Rams need to develop a run-heavy offense, and they do. The team will have the most success running the ball. However, the Rams are still going to have to develop some sort of passing game to counter balance the run-heavy offense.

That is where Kupp steps in. Kupp is built for the slot in the NFL and that slot position is the only area of the passing game the Rams may be able to have success in. Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods will undoubtedly be shut down by the strong Seattle secondary, leaving everything underneath available for Goff.

We have seen this season that Goff has made great improvements in remaining composed and making smart passing choices. The same Jared Goff that may heave the ball downfield is gone, and with so many weapons, it makes him one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL. Yes, I called him dangerous.

Kupp has two touchdowns and 186 yards this season on just 14 receptions. The rookie receiver has made the most of his targets and those targets should increase drastically next week. With the run game to counterbalance the underneath throws, the Rams can possess the ball and eliminate Seattle’s chances.

Next: Did anyone expect this from the Rams?

The Rams always seem to take at least one game against the Seahawks every year, even when they’re at their worst. This season, the Los Angeles Rams may be able to dominate their division foes.
