Week 3 of NFL free agency is here, and the Los Angeles Rams have done a solid job of addressing needs on both sides of the ball. While signing the likes of defensive tackle Poona Ford and offensive lineman Colton Shelton improves the Rams roster, none of the additions have the L.A. fanbase buzzing quite like wideout Davante Adams has this offseason.

Needing to replace the departing Cooper Kupp, the Rams signed Adams to a two-year, $44 million contract to operate as the WR2 on the opposite side of Puka Nacua. The fanbase can't wait to see how the multi-time Pro Bowl playmaker will before alongside quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has finally commented on his new weapon's arrival.

Rams News: Matthew Stafford Excited by "Big-Time" Davante Adams Signing

Stafford was in attendance for Sunday's Rams Football Academy Girls Flag Spring Classic and USA Football Talent Camp, where he was asked about the Rams' offseason. When asked about Adams' arrival, the veteran signal-caller couldn't hide how excited he was to have a new All-Pro-caliber target at his disposal.

"I have a ton of respect for (Adams), the way he goes about his business and the way he plays the game," Stafford said, per the Los Angeles Times' Gary Klein. "He’s been a big-time in this league for a long time, so happy to have him. I know he’s going to be a big addition to our team."

No one can blame Stafford for being excited to play with Adams, especially after WR Cooper Kupp joined the rival Seattle Seahawks in free agency. Although the former Fresno State Bulldog has yet to foster any on-field chemistry with Stafford, the blow stemming from Kupp's departure is lessened by adding an elite playmaker with nearly 12,000 receiving yards and 103 touchdown catches to the mix.

It's going to be interesting to see how Adams produces with Stafford in the former's return to his home state. The three-time first-team All-Pro playmaker is coming off a 2024 campaign that was split between the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, resulting in 85 catches for 1,063 yards and eight TDs in 14 games — good for his fifth straight 1,000-yard performance.

Adams is now united with Stafford, who's averaged 257.9 passing yards per game and a 95.2 passer rating across 57 outings since joining the Rams in 2021. Even though the former Super Bowl-winning QB "only" threw for 3,762 passing yards last season, the low total stems from injuries limiting the Nacua-Kupp pair to 23 total appearances.

Assuming that Nacua and Adams remain healthy, Stafford has more than enough juice left in his arm to support two WR1-caliber performances. It also helps that opposing defenses must make the tough choice regarding which gifted wideout to cover, allowing the other to reap the benefits of the weaker coverage.

Oddsmakers are already predicting a solid first year in L.A. for Adams. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently listing his projected receiving yards total at 925.5 in each of the last 11 seasons.

As for the team-wide outlook following the Adams signing, the Rams will continue with Week 3 of free agency holding the ninth-best Super Bowl 60 odds (+2000) on FanDuel.
